The Borgerhout Squirrels reached the National Finals Baseball D1 and faced the Hoboken Pioneers in the Belgian final on September 12, 2026.
That final was ultimately lost 3–2 after 10 innings. As a result, the Squirrels became the Belgian runners-up for 2026, marking the second year in a row they achieved this title.
But there is more good news: as the runners-up, the Squirrels also secured a European ticket for 2027.
